Biography Kato, Teruhide (1936 - )
Kato Teruhide was born in Kyoto in 1936. After studying at Kyoto Art College, he became a kimono designer. When he was 50 years old he decided to close his atelier and he started pursuing his lifelong dream, designing woodblock prints. Success came soon: in 1991 he had a solo exhibition in New York, and his book Kyoto Romance was published. Most of his woodblock prints are unlimited editions, and these are published by Unsodo. |
