Biography Miyamoto, Shufu (1950 - )

Miyamoto Shufu was born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1950. In 1970 he started studying oil painting under Iioka Osamu. In 1972 he taught himself making woodblock prints, and he started exhibiting his work a few years after. In 1975 he contributed his first print to the yearly CWAJ exhibition and since 1977 he has had annual one-man show exhibitions in Japan. His work is in many major museums and he is represented by top galleries in Japan and the USA. Favourite subjects are landscapes depicted in soft colors.
