Biography Yamanaka, Kodō (1869 - 1945)
Yamanaka Kodō was one of Tsukioka Yoshitoshi's last students. In 1901, he helped found the Ugōkai (the Cormorant Society) together with Ikeda Terukata (1883-1921), Ikeda Shōen (1886-1917) and Kaburagi Kiyokata (1878-1973). Apart from bijin prints he also made I>kuchi-e and landscape prints. In the last part of his life he made woodblock prints of movie actresses under the name of Tatsushige. |
