Biography Shibuya, Osamu (澁谷修) (1900 - 1963)

Shibuya Osamu is mainly known as a leading member of the Futurist Art Association, and as a member of the group MAVO, whose main exponent was Maruyama Tomoyoshi (1901-1977), who had exhibited in Germany just before 1923, when the group MAVO was founded; the group was short-lived and ended in 1925.
Already in 1922 Shibuya Osamu had exhibited at Sanka Independent Art Exhibition. He lectured on futurism, wrote numerous articles, and was very active in the 1920s. He is known to have made collages and to have participated in performance art. His career after WWII is obscure.
