Biography Katō, Yasu (1907 - 1997)
Born in Tokyo, Yasu Katō graduated at the Kyoto College of Crafts and textiles in 1929. He studied printmaking with Hiratsuka Un'ichi, and was also influenced by Onchi Kōshirō and Kawanishi Hide. His most important period was after the war. He exhibited in Japan as well as abroad. His travels also yielded many prints showing European scenes. |
