Biography Kadowaki, Shun'ichi (1913 - 2006)

Shun'ichi Kadowaki was born in Kagawa prefecture. He is known to have studied in Europe, and that is perhaps why he has remained outside the mainstream of Sosaku Hanga. Helen Merritt mentions an exhibition of his prints at the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi department store in 1963, and other research reveals that he worked for the Taisei Corporation making brightly coloured and highly varied depictions of modern scenes in contemporary Japan.
