Biography Shimozawa, Kihachirō (1901 - 1984)

Kihachirō Shimozawa's family name was Shimoyama until 1935. Before WWII he belonged to Hiratsuka Un'ichi's circle, and in fact it was he who introduced Munakata Shikō, who like him was also born in Aomori Prefecture, to Hiratsuka. He was a member of two important Hanga groups, the Nihon Sōsaku-Hanga Kyōkai and the Nihon Hanga Kyōkai. He is mainly known for his landscape prints.
